The Canadian Legal Information Institute (CanLII) and Vancouver-based AI startup Caseway AI have settled their copyright dispute.

Ventures increasingly train AI agents on retrieval augmented generation (RAG) systems that containerize data in small data sets

Professor Chang is leading a planned research collaboration with Vancouver-based startup Caseway AI to examine a simple but high-impact question:

If court decisions are made fully searchable and usable by modern AI systems, will self-represented and marginalized people make better legal decisions?

Vancouver-based Caseway has signed an integration deal with AffiniPay, the fintech company behind LawPay and MyCase, giving Caseway’s AI tools direct access to thousands of law firms across the United States.

The deal embeds Caseway’s automation software into the MyCase platform, allowing users to generate court forms, draft legal documents, and manage workflows without leaving the system.

We love receiving testimonials from lawyers and even self-represented users. Every time one comes in, I take a screenshot and share it with our developers. They work tirelessly behind the scenes to improve the product every day. I also pass it along to our stakeholders, including those who’ve supported us through grants and funding.

Alistair Vigier isn’t your typical technology founder. From his seven years serving in the military to leading legal tech ventures that challenge the legal industry, his journey is marked by resilience, bold decisions, and a clear vision for the future.

I'm sharing a 3-minute demo of my new AI Chatbot, which analyzes millions of judge's decisions.

You can ask it legal questions, and it will find and analyze cases for you. It’s excellent for litigators, solicitors, paralegals, and in-house counsel. It's also great for average people who have legal questions.

It is not a Chat GPT wrapper.

It's the coolest thing I've ever built. Let me know what you think! The feedback has been fantastic so far!! We had 45 lawyers sign up in the first week.

It's not commercially available yet, but it will soon be. Let me know what you think. I'm happy to have you play around with it, too. I can send you an exclusive invite link that only works for you.

Lawyers are often criticized for their slow adoption of technology. A company that is leading this change is Clearway, a legal tech startup that’s aiming to redefine how lawyers manage legal consultations.

Clearway Time, an AI SaaS platform designed to streamline client intake and free up lawyers’ time, has already garnered significant attention. Clearway Time is poised to be a game-changer for law firms.
