Trading stocks on public markets is like playing poker where 95% of your opponents are professionals. You can win, you just have to be damn good. If you're not that good, don't bother coming to the table.

Poker is a zero-sum game (it's actually even worse if the house takes a cut). Trading stocks is not zero-sum; it is possible for everyone to win.

It's not possible for everyone to beat the market, which is what counts if you treat it like poker.
